I learned many important values from Pastor Adonica’s class, Matters of the Heart. I learned that the attitude of your heart will determine where you will end up in ten or twenty years down the road. Since God looks at the heart and he is a discerner of it means that the attitude of someone’s heart is probably the most vital issue. Even with small issues someone can become defiled, but not if you keep your heart right. This really helped me learn how important it is to guard my heart and the content of my thoughts. Out of the abundance of the heart my mouth will speak. That is an important way for me to tell the condition of my heart. I found it interesting to learn that my heart has an alarm system that my brain corresponds with and that if you go with your heart you will have peace. Peace should rule your decisions.
I also learned that it is never a good idea to make important decisions when you are angry or upset and to always strive to walk in the love of God and let offences go. We should always come to the Lord with humility and avoid arrogance or pride at all costs. Walking in the love of God is something I personally want to accomplish on a daily basis since perfect love casts out all fear. I learned the importance of being teachable and receiving correction and not to even get involved with someone else’s offenses. Pastor Adonica taught us that you never want to major on manifestations and to do only what God wants you to do. Bitterness was another issue we were taught to avoid and that hidden sins of the heart can take you out and how whatever someone tries to protect from sinning will be lost anyway. Another issue that I thought was good to know was how someone can do the right thing with a wrong heart and be wrong. I felt like this subject is something that could be taught for an entire year and you would still be learning, but Pastor Adonica did a great job with it in only one week. It is amazing how God can give you a ton of knowledge in a short period of time. Isn’t God awesome!
Sunday was amazing here at the River. We had hundreds of kids show up all expecting gifts and ready for the word at the toy give away. It is truly a blessing to have been able to be apart of this, realizing that God rewards His servant’s and that it is always better to give than to receive. We have such an outstanding helps ministry here and all the helpers were more than eager and willing to devote their skills and time to make this event happen. Lives were changed as people came hungry for God. Over a hundred and fifty children came forward to the altar and gave their lives to Jesus, declaring Him as Lord and Savior. We bused in eight charter buses full of people who came to church ready for the main event. There were over 1,300 people in attendance and 350 people gave their lives to the Lord. With over 300 workers ready serve in so many different facets of ministry from giving out food boxes and distributing toys to camera operators and ushers. The crowds came in and we were ready to welcome them into the family with open arms just as God loves us and welcomes us in His arms when we surrender to His will and call for our lives. There truly is no greater reward for serving in the Kingdom of God than the reward from what we saw here at the River with the harvest of souls on Sunday as lives were changed, and people begin to experience the unending love and power of God. There is no limit to what God can do if you just yield and allow Him to do the work.
The entire week of camp meeting was eye opening I was continually challenged in my daily life. I walked away each day with my faith increased as I prepared for the battle that was quickly approaching me. One thing that really spoke to me was the 2pm service on the Friday. The Lord had actually been dealing with me since the beginning of the year about pruning. I knew that the Lord was going to prune certain things from my life and from the ministry that I am involved in and I was ready for it. But on that Friday Pastor Rodney spoke about enabling cut of branches. It just really spoke to me because the exact passage that the Lord had been using to deal with me was John 15 which speaks of Jesus being the vine and the vinedresser and we the branches and Jesus will cut away the branches that do not produce any fruit. I didn’t realize that in my not standing up against someone who was doing wrong I was actually enabling them as cut off branches and I was even hindering them as well as myself because God could not use them until they were moved and graphed to the vine in another location. It just amazed me because this wasn’t even the sermon he was planning on. It was a commentary he was making before the offering. It was even more astounding that he used the exact terminology that the Lord had been using with me. That was the step that allowed me to rally up my courage and speak to them with loving firmness and even though I feel anger and dagger like resentment from that person I know in my heart that the Lord is using this as a means to grow us both and to further His kingdom. I am truly grateful and I thank God that Pastor Rodney yields to the Holy Spirit whenever possible because I’m not sure where I would have been without those words of knowledge in my life. There were several themes that spoke to me in this campmeeting, but first of all it was really exciting to know so much about Revival Ministries history and possibility to see it from the inside by the words of someone who knows these things better than any other. Sometimes from outside it seems that God has chosen some special people to bless with smooth way to have the great ministry and all kind of blessings that He has in heavenly storage for “The Big Ministers”. And thou you`ve been told that ministry it means work, work, work…in the very deepest corner of brain lives something that tells the story about Gods favorite ones.
The life and 30 year ministry story what pastor Rodney shared during these meetings shed a light on what it really means to built and have a ministry. Thou I had heard life stories of other ministers , I got greatly impressed to hear this one. Passion for God from the early age, willingness and readiness to go thru all kinds of hardships, resistance and opposition from devil and people as well…all of it suddenly became very real- not just from the pages of a book but told personally by pastor Rodney “alive”. Sometimes I got even surprised how openly he spoke about deeply personal emotions. I was touched also by pastor Rodneys integrity, honesty when he shared not the brightest episodes of his life and ministry . I`m sure –not everyone would speak about some things publicly.( getting angry to ministers after New York crusade , for example) While listening to some other stories about what it may cost to have the great victories I got even frightened…Though , thank God , all this campmeeting was not about defeat, loss and unsurpassable hardships but just opposite –about Gods given grace to get through anything alongside with Jesus. These meetings were really encouraging to me. Also I got “additional or extra revelation” about the cost…and how serious it is!
A girl who used to go to church but she was lonely, she didn’t think that Claudia would talk to her about Jesus. The girl started crying and said she wanted to accept Jesus. A girl said ” I don’t have time ” said she was catholic-but she went through the script, she accepted Jesus. The script is very easy. One gentleman I talked to who was saved was excited to talk to me because he was having a meeting that eve in which he was going to try to get the people there excited about soulwinning. He said that he hadn’t even planned on going to the mall this afternoon, an that it must have been God that I talked to him I gave him a VCD, script and the flier for the meetings. I talked with an 83 yr old woman who had been sick for 6 months. She said the prayer she had just gotten out of the hospital. I then went to find her twin sister who also said the prayer. As we were waiting to be picked up a couple said the prayer. She then said I must have been an angel because things were a little messed up and they were planning their wedding.
Hindu festival a hindu man let me pray for him and his entire family he was the father and I prayed the script with 7 his wife and children and other elders in his family that were there. And I gave him a dvd and he took it, other people out there told me they were hindu and would not pray but he told the entire family to pray.
I spoke to 19 people.5 are saved, 5 were not interested and 9 prayed with me. 2 young black man, Pito is a young Hispanic with a woman and 3 kids. The woman walked away and Pito stayed to pray-he is kinda dressed street kid with tattoos, but he was very interested. Andrews was walking with a friend got spirit up-he told me he is going to heaven because he is a good person and goer to church. After we prayed, he found his friend who had just finished praying with another harvester.Not sure if they were going to heaven. Catholic lady- has had many opportunities to receive Christ and hadn’t received Christ until today.
Nursing home-bed ridden man, after saying to him “God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life” he abruptly said “I won’t have anything to do with a god who took my wife of cancer 43 yrs ago, and my son of a heart attack 23 yrs ago” I opened my mouth and the Lord filled it.The thief comes to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came to give life. After sharing the goodness of God- I led him in the shortened script and he repeated and had a peaceful, smiling look on his face.
Young lady was walking across parking lot in a hurry ad stated she was embarrassed to let anyone know we were praying for her so we walked with her fast across the parking lot and a field all the way to the street- she prayed the prayer and accepted Christ. Lady coming out of house- drunk and smoke-while she was praying her friend came and without hesitation she jumped in. On mormon woman led to the Lord by Briana(15 yrs old)that was her first time ever witnessing on the streets. Team had a blast…31 souls saved in about 2 hours at WalMart Sanford. 3″hip hoppers” selling CD’s out of their trunk- turned the music down and were saved! On “christian” selling a “hot” cd player rededicated his life. One old 80+ yrs old lady saved!
Lady-gave word- soften her heart. Prostitute on streets- Am I arrested? Received Christ. Little lady, couldn’t speak or see, could only squeeze soul winners hand- nurse that was feeding her said:” That was for me too.” Nurse was crying and thank soul winner 3xs- A young lady from India, she didn’t want to answer the guestion she would go to heaven or not because she was diagnosed with brain cancer today. But she listened to th script and received Jesus as her Savior and knows she will go to the Heaven what ever happens.
